 The Pre-school is a non-profit making organisation with charitable status and its own constitution.  It is managed by an elected Committee mostly made up of parents of children attending the group together with representatives of the teaching staff at St Catherine’s Catholic Primary School.  The Committee is responsible for managing the Pre-school including employing the staff, arranging insurance, finance, fundraising etc.  There are regular Committee meetings together with an Annual General Meeting in the Autumn Term.  All parents are welcome to attend the AGM and it is an excellent way of finding out about the Pre-school’s educational and business activities during the previous year.

         We aim to:

·      Enhance and promote the development and education of children under statutory school  age in a parent-involving group;

·      Provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment in which children can learn through  play, grow in confidence and develop independence;

·      Provide an environment that values the individual and ensures equality of opportunity for all children and families;

·      Foster strong links with local primary schools in order to ease the transition from pre-school to school.

          We are able to offer:

·      A well-designed indoor environment and extensive outdoor play opportunities;

·      A carefully planned curriculum which links to children’s interests and needs;

·      A rich variety of activities and experiences;

·      Small group sizes, good staff/child ratios and a key person system;

·      The chance for your child to meet and form friendships with other children;

·      Support and care from well qualified and committed staff;

·      Opportunities for you to be directly involved in your child’s learning and the activities of the Pre-school.
