CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL 2019 Our theme this year was 'Mighty Oaks, from Little Acorns Grow', we had a record amount raised, totaling £70.30. CAKE SALE September's cake sale raised £70 despite the wet weather on the day, a big thank you to all who baked and helped run the stall. WEST BAY DAYS A massive THANK YOU to the WEST BAY DAYS COMMITTEE who presented the pre-school with a cheque for £3,000 (yes, really) at the lighting of the Christmas Tree in West Bay. We were stunned and delighted. As we did not expect such a large amount there are no definite plans on how to spend all of the money although some replacement waterproof suits are needed, a willow structure and den are planned for the garden and our IT equipment needs an overhaul. JUMBLE SALE We had a very successful jumble sale in 2018, thank you to all who donated and helped run the stalls. PREVIOUS FRUNDRAISERS: CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL Our Christmas was on display in Bridport United Church during December and raised £35.20. Many thanks to all who donated and to Bridport United Church for organising the event once again. MEMORIES FOR MONEY Thank you to all the families who had a go at our memories for money fundraiser, we had some excellent entries with families collecting memories from as many people as they could find. The winning entry raised £45.10, which is a huge amount of memories!! In total the pre-school raised £369. JESS UPTON & THE GUILTY PLEASURES GIG The gig raised a staggering £1600! EASTER FUN-DAY The pre-school held it's annual Easter Fun Day on Sunday 9th April, and we had brilliant weather for the event. We all had a fun-filled afternoon of Easter crafts, biscuit decorating, egg rolling, egg catching, cake eating, tea drinking, face painting and games. Thank you to all who came out to support the event, and for all those whose gave up their Sunday afternoon to help. A special thank you goes out to KAL marquees who donated and set up the marquee in the grounds, and to Jess for providing the music and PA system. BRIC-A-BRAC SALE ![]() CREEDS FUNDRAISER: JESS UPTON & THE GUILTY PLEASURES We had another fabulous evening at The Tithe Barn in Symondsbury with Jess Upton and The Guilty Pleasures. St Catherine's Pre-school was one of the beneficiaries of this evening along with some other super charities, and were presented with a cheque for £800!! We are extremely grateful to Creeds for all their hard work organising the event and for their continued support of the pre-school. ![]() CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL On Monday 5th December the pre-school set up their Christmas Tree in the Bridport United Church. Thank you to everyone who went and visited the church and donated, the pre-school raised £35.89. CAKE STALL: Friday 25th November Many thanks to all the parents who baked for the cake sale, and for those who helped to set-up and run the stall. We made £66.21!! AN EVENING WITH JESS UPTON AND THE GUILTY PLEASURES: What an amazing night it was in the company of Jess Upton and the Guilty Pleasures, and the Mutter Slater Band in the fabulous Tithe Barn, in Symondsbury. A huge thank you to the bands who provided the outstanding entertainment, and to Symondsbury Estate, for donating the beautiful venue. A big Thank you goes to our raffle prize contributors: The Anchor at Seatown for a £40 voucher, River Cottage for a cookery course, James Hewitt for a £50 Waitrose/John Lewis Voucher, and for Simon Hartley of Hartley's Accountants for a £50 Fat Face Voucher. It was lovely to see so many people supporting the event. It was an incredibly successful evening seeing the pre-school raise just over £1421!!! Look out for the next gig night with Jess in January........ BRIDPORT CARNIVAL: Well the carnival was a bit of a wet one..... but we think everyone had a good night. Thank you so much to the parents and staff who made costumes and dressed up to raise money for the carnival committee. We hope to find out shortly what the total amount raised came out at and how much the pre-school will receive. BOREDOM BUSTER RAFFLE: The raffle which was drawn at the Leaver's picnic managed to raise £79, many thanks to everyone who bought tickets and joined us for an afternoon of entertainment, we hope you all had a lot of fun. CAKE SALE: After school on Friday 20th May the pre-school held another cake-stall. We had a huge range of cakes and biscuits to sell, made by our wonderfully supportive parents, and managed to raise just over £70! Thank you so much to our helpers on the day, we couldn't have done it without you, and to all the people who came and bought after-school treats. EASTER FUN-DAY: What a wet day this turned out to be! However, a lot of fun was had by all who braved the weather, thank you to all those who supported the event by turning up on the day, donating prizes for the raffle, bringing Easter Eggs, baking cakes, and those who gave up their time to help on the day. We managed to raise £480 for the pre-school. BRIC-A-BRAC STALL: The pre-school had a stall in Bucky Doo on Saturday 12th March, selling toys, games, clothes, china, pots, pans, pictures, books... absolutely loads of stuff that was kindly donated by our parents. We had an absolutely fantastic day selling, and raised £609.64!! Many thanks to everyone that contributed items, and to Jim, Jess, Chloe, Michelle and Michelle's mum who gave up their Saturday to run the stall. Thanks also to Hayley to helped Jim and Chloe sort through the mountain of bric-a-brac Friday night, and a special thanks to Jim and Kath for storing everything in their house. Anything that wasn't sold on the day was donated to Julia's House, Scope and Oxfam. CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL: The pre-school had a Christmas tree displayed in Bridport United Church with all decorations having been made by the children. Donations were made by local people visiting the Christmas tree festival. CAKE SALE: The
pre-school held a fundraising Cake Sale on Friday 11th
December and raised £85! Thank you to the many parents who made cakes, biscuits and mince pies, the stall looked fantastic, as well as our team of parent helpers who set up and took the money. Thanks to everyone who visited the stall to buy their after-school treats AUTUMN QUIZ: Many thanks to those that supported the pre-school by taking part in our Autumn Quiz, with a chance of winning a £25 John Lewis gift voucher. We managed to raise £42. HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR 2015: Raised a whopping £1034.30!! Thank you to everyone who made the Halloween Spooktacular a huge success. This includes the staff team, very hard working volunteers, all the generous businesses and people who donated things for the event and of course all the families who made great efforts with fancy dresses and pumpkins and who supported the event by coming along - we hope you all enjoyed yourselves!! With all this support we raised just over £1034.30p - this is our best fundraiser yet - Wow!!! As we are a charity, we rely heavily on our fundraising efforts, and this will help St Catherine's Pre-school to continue to provide fantastic early years childcare that the children all deserve 🎃👻.
