The ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING was held in November 2016 which resulted in some changes to the committee.  Jim Ailward is Chair, Cherri Clap is Secretary and Hayley Parr is Treasurer. Additional committee members are: Cath Murphy, Jess Upton, Frances Guppy, Kelly Jones, Ali Pember, Chloe Jackman and Emma Burt.

The Management Committee is a legal requirement for the Pre-school as it is a registered charity. The elected committee are the trustees of the setting, the people who have overall responsibility for ensuring the group runs successfully in accordance with its aims. The committee is responsible for the management of the pre-school, although Emma Burt is the Pre-school Leader and oversees day to day activities. The committee meet every half term (or so) and oversee finance, policies, staffing and any other things which become relevant.

If you are interested in joining the committee then please get in touch as there are a few vacant positions.

Research shows clear benefits for children when parents become actively involved in their child’s learning and development from an early age. Parental involvement has been recognised by the Government as being key to a child’s successful development too. Volunteering for the pre-school’s parent-run committee offers an ideal opportunity for you to become more actively and practically involved in this aspect of your child’s life. It will also make a real difference to how the pre-school is managed. You will personally benefit from this experience by meeting with other parents, updating existing skills and learning new ones, as well as putting something positive back into your local community.


Even if you do not want to join the committee then you can help in other ways - such as supporting our fundraising activities, using your personal or professional skills, sharing your experiences, bringing new ideas or putting us in contact with others who could help.
